New people are hired with many expectations. We expect them to fit into the culture of the organization, and to bring a minimum of skills that every employee must bring to the job. We expect them to protect organizational assets such as IT systems, we expect them to contribute to the development and execution of efficient processes, and we expect them support a fair and equitable workplace environment.

 

Building competence in these areas, however, requires training, and the reality is that many new hires may not have had formal training in them, and if they have, then the training may need to be refreshed.

 

So, when a person is hired, it does make sense to consider providing them with some training.

 

Beyond the improvement in their skill sets, training all new hires does create a common vocabulary or shared culture extending across the entire organization.

 

There are, of course, many different areas in which training might occur. Some are much better undertaken by the organization itself through its HR department or by contracting with training companies to tailor the training to the needs of the organization.

 

But there remains many areas, that can be addressed through online training that address common challenges. The new hire can then complete these programs as a condition for employment or can be given several weeks to complete them after starting employment.

 

SSGI has created several onboarding courses to meet this need.

 

They include the following:

 

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Basic CyberSecurity
  • Process Efficiency (Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification Included!)

One course does not usually cover the full range of issues to which new hires should be exposed. While these courses can be taken separately, we have also combined them into single packages. This onboarding package for new hires includes Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Basic Cybersecurity, and Process Efficiency (White Belt Certification Included).

 

Each chapter in these courses includes a set of questions. Upon successful completion of an exam at the end of the course, a certificate of completion is awarded.

 

The courses are short but substantive. It will take the average person in the range of 2-4 hours to complete each one.

 

Each course has been written by Professor Barry Shore and reflects his reader-friendly writing style.

Course Topics Covered

When it comes to onboard training for general staff, one course does not usually cover the full range of issues to which new hires should be exposed. So as a result, SSGI has developed an onboarding program that combines multiple courses into one single training package. This package includes Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Basic Cybersecurity, and Process Efficiency (Lean Six Sigma White belt Certification Included!).

Certification & Certificates of Completion

Included in this onboarding package is access to the SSGI Process Efficiency course. Upon completing the course and passing the associated exam (included), you will earn an official Lean Six Sigma White Belt (LSSWB) certification. This certification comes with a digital badge and an ID License Number that is hosted digitally online and can be attached to LinkedIn.

In addition, at the end of each course, you will have access to an exam. Upon passing the exam you will receive a certificate of completion that is specific to that course. Each certificate will be generated digitally and hosted online via our database.

Program Specs

Courses are hosted on SSGI’s LMS and are fully online and self-paced. Users will be given their own account, where progress tracking and certificates of completion will be generated as one works their way through the program. There is no expiration date, as users will have continued access to the training.
